Day of the Dead Pet ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you use our pet memorial video service at dayofthedeadpet.org (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy. We may update it from time to time; material changes will be announced by email or a notice on the site at least 15 days before they take effect.

2.1 Information you provide

  • Account information: Name, email address, and password (stored using industry-standard hashing). Optional profile details you choose to add.
  • Memorial content: Pet photos you upload, pet name, scene choices, and related text needed to generate your memorial video.
  • Payment information: Order amount, currency, payment status, and transaction identifiers. We do not store full payment card numbers — card data is processed by our payment processor (see Section 5).
  • Communications: Messages you send to customer support.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device and network: IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, and time zone.
  • Usage data: Pages viewed, features used, session duration, and interaction logs.
  • Technical logs: Request timestamps, error reports, and performance data used to keep the Service reliable and secure.

2.3 Third-party sign-in

If you sign in with Google or another supported provider, we receive the profile information that provider shares according to your account settings (typically name and email).

We may aggregate or de-identify data for statistics; that data cannot reasonably identify you.

We may use privacy-friendly or first-party analytics configured in our admin settings. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings and our cookie banner where shown.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information, including as "sale" is defined under applicable laws such as the CCPA.

We share information only when needed to operate the Service:

  • Service providers under confidentiality obligations, including:
    • Waffo Pancake — PCI-DSS payment processing (card data is handled exclusively by Waffo Pancake, not stored on our servers)
    • Cloudflare — hosting, storage (e.g. media assets), and security
    • Alibaba Cloud DashScope (Wan) — AI image-to-video processing for memorial clips (your uploaded photo and generation parameters are sent to generate the video)
    • Email and infrastructure vendors as configured for the Service
  • Legal requirements — when required by law, court order, or lawful government request.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger or acquisition, with notice where required.
  • With your consent — for any other purpose you explicitly approve.

6. Security

We use measures such as HTTPS/TLS in transit, access controls, encrypted storage for sensitive configuration, and hashed passwords. No online system is perfectly secure; please keep your login credentials private.

If a security incident is likely to affect your rights, we aim to notify you and relevant authorities within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, as required by applicable law.

7. Retention

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export your personal data, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. Account holders can update email and profile details in Settings. To delete your account, contact support or use account tools where available.

9. Marketing

We do not send promotional email unless you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in an email or by contacting us. Unsubscribing does not affect essential service messages (payments, security, delivery of your video).

10. International transfers

Our infrastructure and providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses with processors.

11. Children

The Service is intended for users 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided data to us, contact cyinkwan61@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

12. Third-party links

The Service may link to third-party sites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.

13. Changes

We will post updates on this page and change the "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated at least 15 days in advance when practicable.
